- The treacherous heart - Edgar Allen Poe

Inanna in the Underworld

Art work

For this art work I worked together with a classmate.
We chose a scene in the story and made this model out of it.

Lesson 2:

Find 10 inspirational illustrators

I did a research of ten illustrators I found most interesting of the big list I got.
Here is my research with also some artworks of the artists themselves.

Lesson 3:

Acts in stories
Before:
T-shirt design

The creatures that are going to save Inanna, in the first story, are described as non-binary. I was imagining how they would've looked like and drew them.
When I was done I made a design for a shirt that could've been worn by any gender.

I was keeping in mind that this shirt would not only be worn by me (a female), but also by males who like alternative fashion or someone non-binary.
It was a fun research to do!
I used screen printing as a technique, to work out this drawing.
This was the design I made in Photoshop.
This was the t-shirt after screenprinting it.
It was a very interressting technique to use.
After the screenprinting I did some extra modifiactions to the shirt.
I added a corset on the back and put some ribbons on the sleeves and around the neckline.

I also added my own personal logo on the inside.

Lesson 4:

Red Riding Hood

Make a storybeat

In a group of four I made video's for the story Red Riding Hood.
When the video's were made, I made a screenshot of the scenes I found most interresting and started painting over them.

The purpose of the screenshot was to get a moment caught where an interaction was inbetween the characters.

The interaction I chose was the moment when Red Riding Hood shoot the wolf.
I liked the movement in the picture and wanted to make use of it.

Lesson 5:

Make a narrative space

With a classmate we made this beautiful model.
We wanted to have this scene out of the perspective of Red Riding Hood. That's why we filmed it like this.

We did an amazing work with a lot of different materials, I'm very proud of it.
The music and sound effects make everything better.

Homework:

For this lesson I had to chose two artists I found interesting and looked what I have in common with that artist.
Lesson 6:

The treacherous heart

This is the last story I worked on.

The assignment was to make an illustration (comic) of two panels.
Because I was short on time, I made a very quick one.
Lesson 7:

Storyboarding

I quickly sketched a storyboard for the next lesson, in this storyboard I need to make sure the story is understandable.
After talking with a classmate, I got a few tips:

- Make a better layout
- Make the comic Dutch (probably still make an English version too)
- Take out a few scenes
