Period 4 is a collaboration between the subjects: 3D Maya, 3D Max and 2D drawing.

Recently I'm a Drow (dark elf) Helena Oscur in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign and I'm obsessed with her.
Due to this obsession I put all finished products together on the same page and everything according to the Drow theme. Underdark and really edgy.

3D Maya period 4
The shop of Helena's parents is in the center of the city. Their house is built on the top of the shop. When Helena looked out of the window of her sleeping room, she had a view on a water well.
This is the finished 3D model of the water well without texture.

3D Max period 4
Helena's parents owned a weapon shop. Her parents died when she was only 50 years old. After the death of her parents, Helena and her twin brother Dhaelrin decided to take over the weapon shop.
For their 70th birthday Dhaelrin gave Helena a gladiolus, a typical short sword used by Drows. The grip of this gladiolus contained a white diamond. Dhaelrin had made a similar gladiolus for himself with a black diamond in the grip.

The silouettes were fun to create, after a lot of modifying and asking around for opinions, I finally created the silouette I liked most.
A gladiolous is known for not having a cross-guard (that horizontal protection between the grip and the blade), so the user is able to make quicker movements without being bothered by obstacles.
The blade of the silouette looks really fancy, that's why I choose this final design.

Treasure chest
Helena has a pet named Mimi, first it was a wolfhound. When Mimi died in old age Helena was devastated. Although Drows are known as creatures who don't really care about others, Helena was different. Her parents felt sorry for her. So one day they took Helena's treasure chest and with some magic they put the soul of the dog inside the chest.
Now the chest is a good boy who keeps Helena's most important treasures.
It will only die when Helena dies.
This is the finished drawing.
I started creating the treasure chest, after I finished it, it felt incomplete. So I created the room where the chest should be kept.

Silhouettes.
First I wanted to make only the treasure chest, but one of my friends said: 'It would be fun if it really had spider legs', and that inspired me.
Another friend of me, came with: 'ooo, what if you give it eyes like an actual spider', and that was also a funny idea and I added the eyes.

Tree
When Helena and her brother went above ground, coming out of their Drowish city, they chilled under a weeping willow after a long walk.
It was a lovely place where they were all alone.
Finished drawing of weeping willow.
Just like the chest, the weeping willow looked a bit boring without background so I made one for it.

Mask

Helena is wearing a mask to hide her white Albino skin. The mask also protects her eyes from the sun, she is very sensible for sunlight.
While living in her parents house, Helena always put her mask on a lamp with spiderlegs in her room, it would scare burglars who had the intention to steal.
It looks quite terrifying and it works.
Finished drawing of the lamp, it looks so real! I love the leather texture of it and if you look really close you see the stitches on the mask.
Lamp without background.
This is just the mask.
As you can see in the process video I tried to make different kinds of lamps, but non of these could satisfy me.
I was already busy with the mask of Helena, for my personal use and after a while my mom came to me and said: 'why don't you make a lamp out of that?'.
At first I answered: 'Because it's a mask... not a lamp...' but after a while I thought about a story, where a mask becomes a lamp and started with drawing.
Finally I managed to make something descent.
The background was also a struggle. Drows are known as creatures of the underdark, they live under the ground or in places where the sun doesn't come out that much. This means that the interior of their houses is most of the time really dark.
Helena herself likes dark clothing, a criminal needs to be stealthy, and below surface all is black so not noticable. Of course, her mask a dark blue/black. That's why I had a struggle with the background.
Sketches of lamps I made.
Nothing of the sketches looked like the lamp I finally created, but that was because making the lamp was a long process.
I used my own lamp as inspiration (picture in the middle) and the flower pictures are flowers I can see out of my bedroom window.
